It all happened so long ago. That fateful day where I fell in love with design. It started when I pushed my bedroom furniture around to create a more inviting and useful floor plan. I think I was 6 years old.
I still enjoy doing that today. Creating a fresh look with existing assets or starting with a clean canvas. Not only in a room, but on paper and the web, too. My creative interests run far and wide. However, in the late 90's I was given an opportunity at a full-time job with a mailing services company where Graphic & Print Design was introduced to me. It sparked an interest and I was encouraged to pursue it. Low and behold, I developed an eye for page layouts, fonts, photography, and use of color. I completed some courses in college and dove into the workforce ready to put everything to use. With the help of many professional and friendly influences along the way, I am where I am today.
In addition to working for various employers over the years, I also picked up design projects from family, friends, and eventually I developed clients by word of mouth. I started gaining projects on the side and soon realized that momentum was building.
In 2006, I was working as a Senior Graphic Designer for a tech company when my husband and I welcomed our first child into the world. When my maternity leave was over, I returned to work as an Independent Contractor so I could have more flexibility with working from home and caring for our child. It would also allow me to manage and schedule outside projects around the demands of my contract hours. This is when Clickography was born! I based my company name from my love of Graphic Design and Photography. Mouse clicks and shutter clicks. It just seemed to click!
In 2009, my husband and I welcomed our second child. My setup of working from home was well established and projects were plenty. However, after a few years of juggling the demands of two small children, design contracts, side projects, and husband's family business... something had to give. In January 2012, I ended my full-time contract and jumped aboard the family business for a solid year, putting all of my main assets to use. Marketing, Graphic & Web Design, Photography, Project Management, and even developed some new skills along the way. What a ride!
At this stage in my journey, I am ready to get back into doing what I do best. Graphic Design, Marketing, Photography, Web Design. Please take a look at my gallery and let me know how I may work with you in achieving your vision.
